Rehana and I at Farah wedding

Just wanted to share some of what me (and sometimes with the Mrs.) have filmed over the summer of 2016. Most recent was a traditional Nigerian wedding (not so traditional I guess as Nigerian groom married a Jewish bride)…though the theme of the 2 day wedding leaned more to Nigerian than Israel! Tanya filmed this one with me as they wanted the most possible coverage…and The two things most stuck in our minds are the colors of the attire – and THE MUSIC! Afro pop I think is generally how it’s classified, and more specifically Nigerian pop I think…I’m a lifetime musician and I can say it was great to hear fresh sounding music.

And only a couple weeks ago I went deep into the heart of Surrey, B.C. to film a 3 day sikh/muslim wedding. Again, the colors of the clothing, makeup and jewelry will be with me forever,,,as will the beats and melodies that are particular to India that the DJ played, and the people danced to til the wee hours.

I feel so lucky to be able to witness such events AND to capture on film, knowing the families will watch these keepsakes – for generations!

The picture below is me with the incredibly gracious Rehana, mother of the bride:)

Must get back to the editing room …Stay tuned for the final edited films…
